Q1 2024 Performance of Top Carpooling Apps on iOS in Australia

Sensor Tower's latest data provides an overview of the carpooling and ridesharing app landscape on the iOS platform in Australia for the first quarter of 2024. Here, we delve into the performance of the top five applications in this category.

Uber - Request a ride, a prominent player, saw its downloads fluctuate, starting at approximately 20K in the first week of January and dipping to around 17K by the end of March. Weekly active users showed a more positive trend, starting at around 423K and peaking at nearly 495K in mid-March before settling at roughly 471K by the quarter's end.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides experienced a similar pattern in downloads, with numbers ranging from 13K to almost 14K throughout the quarter. The app's weekly active users started at approximately 176K and saw an increase to nearly 210K in mid-February, but experienced a slight decline to about 192K by the end of March.

For Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver, downloads began at 3.7K in January and saw an increase to 5.5K in early March, followed by a slight decrease to 4.7K towards the quarter's close. Weekly active users stayed relatively stable, beginning at 169K and ending the quarter around 150K.

Bolt: Request a Ride showed modest download numbers starting at 2.7K and reaching 2.1K by the end of March. The app maintained a steady base of weekly active users, starting at 47K and slightly increasing to 49K in the last week of March.

Lastly, Ola: Book Cab, Auto, Bike Taxi downloads ranged from approximately 1.9K to 1.3K throughout the quarter. Weekly active users saw a slight decrease from 172K in the first week of January to roughly 160K in the final week of March.
